Hey, USA folks! The Supreme Court just ruled that it’s a-OK for states to kick you off the voter registration rolls if you don’t vote in 2 consecutive federal elections or respond to election mailings that are easily mistaken for junk mail. Not cool.
So! If you’re not in a state that lets you register at the polls (list of states that let you do that here with details on requirements), MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED! The League of Women Voters’ vote411.org site (link) has a good run-down of voting information, including where to check if you’re registered, what the registration deadlines are, and what documentation you’ll need in order to do so.
Primary season is in-progress, and the midterms this November will be super-important!
^^^^^ Also, if you want to help other people keep voting, this is an excellent time to look into becoming a volunteer Voter Registrar! It’s exactly what it sounds like, someone who helps people get registered (or potentially re-registered) to vote. Every county has its own rules for becoming a volunteer Voter Registrar, but it’s usually fairly painless– many counties have online training and the requirements are to join are usually something along the lines of “be over 18 and a citizen of the state with no felony convictions”. A quick search for “Become a Voter Registrar (my county)” should give you the information you need to start!
It’s also a good time to contact your county election office or party about becoming a poll worker! Polls are often very understaffed, resulting in longer lines or potentially even the loss of a polling location.
Also, if you know you’re going to have trouble voting in person,check now to see if your state allows voting by mail –it can sometimes take a while to get the paperwork for that done.

This is a Trump administration policy. It’s important for Republicans to know we don’t believe his lies, and that we know exactly who is responsible for this. Calling Democratic members of Congress helps, too – even if they already support keeping families together at the border, it will help to continue to encourage them to take action.
