Bucky Barnes sees a fucking raccoon firing a machine gun while cackling like a maniac and instead of losing his shit he just shrugs, picks it up and spins it around Mary Poppins style

All the ranting about bad writing aside, and poor decisions on the part of the writers of Infinity War, and all that. It occurs to me that I really need to talk about just how incredibly dangerous the lie of overpopulation is briefly.
Because obviously, it’s used to excuse the bullshit of capitalism’s failings, to excuse the existence of crippling poverty, of starvation. But we all need to remember, as well, the way this is all tied into white supremacy.
Right now, the situation for the lower classes is growing worse and worse. We see the Republicans now attacking the last vestiges of the poor. They go after food stamps. They go even harder than before after medical care. And it doesn’t make sense at first, we wonder what they will do when the reality hits their constituents. Because it’s one thing to think that it’s always Them, it’ll never happen to Us, but when the reality arrives and people are starving and sick, they will start to finally turn on their party.
And the party then often goes “there’s too many people, we can’t take care of everyone”. And then people say “But who would we get rid of?”
Comes the answer, “undesirables”.
They’ve been lining up undesirables. Lining up blame.
I know that there’s no effective way to boycott something like this, and boycotts do little to nothing anyway. But if you see anyone talking about the idea of overpopulation it is CRITICAL that you do not let that lie go unanswered. This movie has been sparking conversations about overpopulation and if people let it go unchallenged it will not stop at merely excusing the every day crimes of capitalism and its evil mundanity. If we let it go unchallenged, it will be used to turn the festering anger at the state of the world even more against the wrong targets. We know who those targets are, for the Trump administration has been lining them up for some time now.
Do not anyone tell us that there isn’t enough room, that there isn’t enough food, that there aren’t enough houses. There’s enough food and enough houses to feed everyone. It is only this horrifying state of things, it is only money which stands between them and what they need. It is capital. It is greed.
