Also the beats of this movie were so weird. They cut off to the next scene after someone said something so quickly. Like.. a half a second more pause would have made it so much less awkward. And this was through the whole movie! So like a weird editing decision by them. Weird as in bad.
To be fair I was playing a drinking game by myself while I watched the movie (and the perimeters I set for myself were lofty to say the least) but by the end of it I’m pretty sure I remember Steve landing in a bed of ice, not the ocean, which makes me think a couple of things:
1) why didn’t the bombs go off when he hit solid ground? He landed the plane where he did to make sure the bombs wouldn’t hit land. But like.. he did hit solid land. And nothing happened. Unless the bombs were too cold to go off?? Wtf.
2) did he just knock himself out on impact or what bc I don’t think there was any drowning involved unless it was much later. Like he landed on a think sheet of ice. That’s it.
2.5) if he did wake up did Steve just decide to stay until he froze, bc Steve, buddy, my drama queen… come on…

I’m not going to get into Army issue. That information is, frankly, kind of easy to find if you need it and Bucky spent none of his post-WTFSteve?? period wearing Army issue. I’m going to try to parse his Howling Commando uniform.
