Sometimes I have interests outside of the Marvel Universe, and I like to check up on things on tumblr.
Sometimes other fandoms also like the MCU and post stuff about the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie.
“Cool!” I think- I’m glad this excitement is spreading and people want to see this movie. I look at what they have to say. They say that the trailer has them shipping Steve and Wanda after Steve activates protective dad mode during the Sokovia Accords meeting.
“Oh.” I say. “Wha…?“ I am baffled. After all the chemistry in those trailers, that’s what they pick up on? “It is very gay!” I scream, “This movie is very very gay!” But my insistence falls upon dears ears.
Sometimes, I forget about the outside world. I slink back to my MCU tumblr bubble and be sad about heteronormativity.
